You have decided that you might want to give polo a try, but you do not know where to start? It does not matter if you have ridden before or not La Republica Polo School will have a suitable program for you to develop a passion for polo. Getting a good fundamental base of horse riding skills is vital for polo and that is why our instructors will focus on getting you confident on the horse in a controlled environment before taking you out onto the Polo field. Once your riding has been established you will progress to learn the polo swings and practice hitting the ball during the different gaits. Once you are confident with your skills small practice chukkas at low speed will be arranged so that you get to understand the "game" of polo. The possibility then exists to participate in club chukkas and once you are confident enough even tournaments.
Private lessons are recommended in the beginning because of the need of having the full attention of the instructor on the student in this critical stage. Once a certain level is reached it is then possible to have group lessons and participate in small training sessions. Experienced players also benefit from one on one instruction to improve on certain aspects of their game.
